The EAST problem...Why would I give people weeks to figure things out themselves. Because I want people to understand it and drench themselves into it. So why do I know I'm looking at a polyalphabetic substitution? And if we think poly alphabetic, what do we have? DIANA, Alberti, Enigma, Trithemius, Beaufort, Vigenère, ... I thought I gave something two years ago, but apparently I didn't. But we basically have a weak spot that easily decrypts. An EAST problem and a lot of questions. Now if you look more at the details, you gain more confidence. For example if we look at section 27 - 52 I did something to get to this: ORTHEASTPXRZBAREDECODEDBMC.
So the confidence builders are: if SS -> eaST and QQ -> NOrtheast. Chances are SS/ZZ -> DEcoDEd. Suppose you just ran a brute forcer and it said, well ladies and gentleman: Form Easy <Something> Weak East North East Parts Are Decoded By CIA Agents <etc etc>. When you look at the details, what I did was looking back at the hints. And if you didn't notice, now you will. The encrypted letter P in qqPrn becomes noRth and basically it even gets better, because qqPrN becomes noRtH. And the other hint you got was that... NyPvtt is BeRlin. So what this basically says is that P becomes R again. And the N it needs to be a B. So when just using 1 rotor or 1 substitution I wanted to do something to get the B and the R in place. And so after some tweaks I used a shift of -1, a shift of +1 and a shift of -11 (in an alfabet of 26 characters). I could also use another shift. Apparently I threw that code away but you can also form LIBERTY at the end instead of WEAPON and even PLATELO. But the whole point is that you understand with just 1 rotor, you can't decrypt it. So the WEAK then... The BB bothers me, because it doesn't work consistent. Now bruteforcing doesn't tell you that. And PARTB, or PARTA it bothers me too. Just like EAST. If we look at the R, then forM, eaSt, norTh...There seems to be consistency, so we leave this at -1. And the only R left is at the end. When I look at the encrypted character O, then each time I have an O it is followed with gibberish. And the Q, well just like the O, we have an abundance of them in the beginning. Wait...Yes look at the whole thing. The O never comes back after the PXRZB...And the same applies for the Q. It forms NOrth and then BarEdecoded. So if we say, for every X at the end, we want an A and for every Y we want a E...You can form WEAK for example. But it will bother you as well. That's why the Q bothered me. If you read the form easy sentence, what's the problem? The problem is the Q. There is no logic in it for PXRZB. Suppose it was even PXRZA. And so what I did give is, that I not only focused on just alfabets with 26 characters. But what if this isn't A or B, but . So we get weak east north east part. Are decoded by CIA Agents? You see the subtle difference how one character just can let you go banana's. And that's what I wanted to show you. These small issues, from a scientific pov, should bother you. Because let's do something else...Suppose the O at that spot isn't a P...It's a W. If we now look at the T is there more consistency now? The distance between T->X but we want it to be an A -> it needs to be 2 further. And if we follow this then, when it was at the A then it would be a C if we keep the shift steady...PARC? -> PARK. This is why I said...Well even though this seems to be easy...The T is always a misery... bM -> bY? bgrjsh -> berlIN. The consistency is, that the T is not providing what it should be. So what I did was...I stared at what I have, and I want you do to the same. Stop here to continue reading. And copy paste what I gave above, all of it. BDRNF... -> AGENT? From this perspective rubbish seems to have a tendency to become plain english with some minor tweaks. It seems that the B then needs to become an A and the D a G and that the R is more suited to be at the position of the F. And the F at the position of the R. And if you look at EOTMWEAPONAD. It looks more that DOWNWEAPONS. makes more sense. And so BGRJSH the G needs to be an E and the J an L. So all these small twists pop up over and over again. FPRM -> FORM EADY -> EASY. IGOHBB -> if that last B was at the I, and shift +1 it is a C. And so the I at the position of the B + 2 = K. But if that other B has a shift of +1 then this B becomes C. so the I is now J +1 = K. And so it's time to start opening pandora's box. You have cribs, you can do whatever you like, and the purpose is that you need to find a consistent way where all these subtle changes start to make sense. So if you look at it again, you can solve it using 3 rotors. Why not 4? Think about it. And why doesn't working with the enigma rotors and UKW don't work... From your own research, what I did, was make markers. Because they work consistent. Eg. the Q, the N, the P, ... And some cause trouble all the time (they have another position) and some cause trouble sometimes (maybe this is a shift problem). And that's what you need to combine. Now wait a minute...He used pen and paper... There is a way to develop a rotor based system with just paper...You see mister Alberti...I told you, you will thank this man later. So you basically want to write things down in this manner: encrypted Q -> N -> N, Q -> O -> O. Just like for example: B -> Y -> E, B -> X -> A... You want something in between to have logic that makes sense...So what is the east problem about... How can someone make something fully reciprocal, without textbooks. Without books with settings. The more you understand what is going on, the more you will understand script kiddies, they won't solve this. And keep your mind open. Don't tunnel vision into it needs to start with FORM EASY of FOR MEADE. Let the decryption work.

When I woke up this morning I had a better idea. What I wanted to show is that cryptographers, usually mathematicians, tell you that something is unbreakable based on for example the number of permutations. The key length etc. Brute forcers have a tendency to guess the implementation and just do script stuff. And a cryptogram analyst says...Oh you mathematicians with all your permutations...You just needs 3 things: plain text, implementation and encrypted text. Why bother cracking an implementation (eg. the Lorenz Cipher implementation), when it's easier to crack an alphabet. For the basics of this cryptogram there is even a general brute forceable way. But that's not the point. So to reply like a mathematician and end this thread. The fact that this wasn't solved in 35 years by anyone is 0.0000005%. I don't buy this. Whether you are a vigenère expert, a rotor expert, one time pad expert, ... If you really learned from World War II (as a crypto analist) you don't go after an implementation, you go after what they all have in common. So I dare to say: 100% that the best people in the world, working for intel services, cracked this. Now people aren't going to believe this. But you see a blue colored decryption and a normal one. If I tell you that I used a different implementation you won't believe it. But I did, and I will explain in the lessons. PS: I'm just an ordinary man. I do basic stuff. Oh I forgot: Edward Scheidt stated that the difficulty of the encryption was around nine out of ten. He said that his intention was for it to be solved in five to ten years. We'll see. I have time. So what I'll do next is: I start a new thread with basic steps so it doesn't matter whether you are a seasoned hacker or just new to cryptograms. You will do basic stuff and I'll teach you about problems, how to overcome them, what to see, detect patterns, understanding how to solve mistakes, the east problem (east???) it will make sense later, ... I don't understand why it takes 35 years. So time to figure out. Each week I will write in another thread (and on X) the lesson. And so you will get an overview of what you need (usually pen and paper), the target of the exercise, why you need to do it, and how to reuse that information, things to look for, ...
